Lemon Turmeric Energy Balls


  • 12 Medjool dates 
  • 1 cup gluten free rolled oats
  • ½ cup raw almonds
  • 1 tablespoon chai seeds
  • 1/2 lemon, washed, and seeds removed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • optional coating: ½ cup almond flour or shredded un-sweetened coconut


    • Remove the pits from dates and soak them in hot water for several minutes. When the dates are softened, drain, saving the water just in case, and place them in a food processor.

    • Add the other ingredients to the food processor and blend until mixture turns into a dough-like consistency. Add 1 or 2 tablespoons of saved date water if the mixture is too dry.

    • Roll into balls, then roll the balls in almond flour or shredded coconut.

    • Store energy balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator until serving.

    • Notes-  Yes, you'll add the entire 1/2 of a lemon to the food processor with the other ingredients.  It only takes about 10 minutes to make them, and when stored in the refrigerator, they keep for up to 2 weeks.
